A multimodal fusion framework to diagnose cotton leaf curl virus using machine vision techniques

Today's article comes from Cogent Food & Agriculture. The authors are Ahmad et al., from the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, in Pakistan. In this research the researchers train a Computer-Vision model on two different types of data simultaneously: normal digital photos taken within the visible light spectrum, and NIR (Near Infra Red) data collected at the same time. The result is something they call a "fusion" framework, and the results are rather surprising. Let's dive in.
