Smart Airport Radar: Multimodal AI Classification of Aerial Threats with Communication Link Performance Evaluation

Today's article comes from the journal of Aviation Electronics, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Electricals, and Controls (AVITEC). The authors are Abdulkhaleq et al., from the University of Information Technology and Communications, in Iraq. In this paper, they're proposing a new surveillance system that uses multiple signals to classify aerial objects. It pipes motion patterns, thermal signatures, and radar characteristics into a lightweight model, and spits out a classification in real-time.
